Community service and field trip

Fathima Memorial Training College, Mylapore, Kollam, organized a three-day Community Service Program that aimed to instill values of empathy, social responsibility, and environmental awareness among the students. On the first day, the we visited Anganavadi No. 1 at Parkmukku, Umayannalloor, where us spent time with young children. We engaged the children in creative activities and distributed drawing books and crayons, fostering an atmosphere of joy and learning. This interaction helped the students develop a deeper understanding of early childhood education and the importance of nurturing young minds.

On the second day, the we visited an old age home where they interacted with the elderly, listened to their stories, and offered emotional support. This experience highlighted the importance of caring for the elderly and recognizing their contributions to society. Later that day, we visited Sambranikodi Island, where we enjoyed the natural beauty and reflected on the need for environmental conservation. The visit emphasized the significance of maintaining ecological balance while appreciating nature’s serenity.

The final day included a field trip to three significant locations—Anandavalleshwaram, Shantigiri Society, and Varkala Cliff. The visit to Anandavalleshwaram deepened the students' understanding of local heritage, while the interaction with Shantigiri Society introduced them to sustainable practices and community initiatives. The day concluded with a trip to Varkala Cliff, where the students admired the natural beauty and learned about the geological significance of the region. Overall, the program provided a holistic learning experience, helping the students become socially responsible and culturally aware individuals.
